9/20/2003 -- It seems amazing to me that two weeks have already flown by since my last diary entry. It seems like just yesterday I was just writing here. Anyway, I'm just writing to catch up on a funny thing that happened last weekend.

For a while now, I've been a big fan of the band Evanescence and last Sunday night they played a show at the Avalon Ballroom on Landsdowne Street in Boston. I bought a ticket for the show a couple of weeks ago, and I was excited to go see them. I was nervous though, because they are sort of gothic and alternative, and so I expected the crowd at the show to be the same. I was sure I was going to stick out like a major loser, because as a boy I'm kind of preppy and square. So, I thought about dressing up, since my Kira wardrobe has a wider range of clothes that I thought would fit the occasion, but ultimately I decided against it. I went to the show by myself, since I didn't have a friend to go with, and it turned out fine. I was by no means the worst dressed or most out of place dude at the show, and the concert was really good. They only have one CD out, so their repertoire is limited. They played basically the whole CD, one of their older unreleased songs, and one cover song (Smashing Pumpkins 'Zero'). The whole show lasted about an hour. While I was there, I looked around as much as possible at all the girls in the club, and I wasn't obvious to me if any were CD girls like me. So, in retrospect, it's probably best that I went as a boy. I'm still hoping to get out this Fall as Kira. I just need a destination, and a friend to go with. Girls, any volunteers?

Until the next time...

XO -- Kira
